Ahlam Bsharat is a Palestinian youth novelist, poet, short story writer, children books auther, screenwriter, children songs writer, and a creative writing luturer.
She is a prominent and highly regarded author of YA novels in the Arab world, and her books have met with great success at the local and international levels. They have been included in IBBY lists, shortlisted for the Palestine Book Award (UK) and Etisalat Award for Children’s Literature (UAE). She has presented twice and run creative writing workshops at the Emirates Literature Festival in Dubai, and participated in numerous creative writing forums in Europe.
She has published thirty books, focusing in her books on identity, rural life, imagination, dreams, memories and forgetting, without ignoring the harsh reality. Her style is characterized by boldness, simplicity, and the use of funny language. The lady of small details, as one journalist described her att the beginning of her career,Fady Joudah,Palestinian American poet, essayist, translator.,Winner of the Jackson Poetry Prize in 2024, says about her work: Palestine's childhood lives in Ahlam Bsharat's art.
